Defence Force stage protest over pay rates

Defence Force civilian employees are continuing their protest over pay, saying some workers haven't had an increase since 2014.

They say NZDF is refusing to bargain with their union, the Public Service Association, under their collective agreement.

Employees handed out pamphlets at Wellington Railway Station this morning which said many skilled civilian roles were paid $10,000 less than equivalent roles at other organisations.

They've voted to take limited industrial action, including refusing to answer phones or reply to emails at Kauri Point in Auckland until next Wednesday.
