Whena Owen investigates Captain Cook’s legacy, as New Zealand prepares to remember the 1769 landing.

It's been described as the most significant event in our nation's history - the arrival of Captain James Cook in 1769 at Poverty Bay. 

The Government will spend $15 million marking the 250th anniversary later this year, but those events won't hero-worship Cook as other anniversaries have in the past.

So how should we view Cook in 2019? Q+A's Whena Owen investigates.
