Daughter of Sir Howard Morrison, Donna Grant, facing Serious Fraud Office charges

Maori performing arts educator Donna Grant is facing charges by the Serious Fraud Office. 

Mrs Grant is the daughter of the late performer Sir Howard Morrison. 

In a statement by the Serious Fraud Office, it is alleged Mrs Grant "used her position in several organisations to fraudulently obtain funding from the tertiary education provider Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi and the Tertiary Education Commission". 

She has appeared in the Rotorua District Court. 

Mrs Grant was a "a trustee of the Te Arawa Kapa Charitable Trust, a member of the board of trustees for the New Zealand Warriors Foundation, as well as the executive director of a private training establishment, Manaakitanga Aotearoa Trust", the statement said.
