Teenage cyclist dies after being hit by a car in Tauranga

A teenage cyclist has died after being hit by a car in the Tauranga suburb of Papamoa.

Police say the crash occurred at the intersection of Sandhurst Drive and Papamoa Beach Road.

The crash, between a car and a cyclist, occurred about 2:50pm.

The road has now been reopened and police are investigating the crash.
