Cyclist critically injured after accident involving vehicle in Ruakaka, Northland

A person has been critically injured while cycling after an incident involving a vehicle in Ruakaka, Northland.

Police say the accident happened shortly before 7am on Marsden Point Road.

The cyclist was airlifted to hospital.

A section of Marsden Point Road will be closed for some time and diversions are in place.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
