The cyclist was transported with serious injuries to hospital, where he passed away yesterday, police revealed this afternoon.

He has since been identified as Max Kerrison, 69.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances behind the crash.

* An earlier version of this story suggested the car hit the cyclist. Police said only that there was "an incident... involving a car and cyclist".
