A 45-year-old man who was trapped in his concrete truck for more than two hours has been taken to Invercargill's hospital in a critical condition.

The man was discovered at 12.45pm today in his truck which had rolled on Gorge Road-Invercargill Highway, just east of the city.
Emergency services worked for more than two hours at the scene to free the man who was then taken to Kew Hospital.
St John, the Fire Service and police attended and the road was down to one lane.
