National Party Leader Bill English gave rowing a go this morning while at a campaign trail appearance in Tauranga, leaving him "a bit puffed".

Mr English showed off his sculling skills against the high performance under-15 team.

National's 2014 campaign advertisement featured rowing teams, but has this year switched to imagery featuring Mr English jogging.

The party was taken to court by lawyers acting for the copyright owner of Eminem's 'Lose Yourself', which they said was copied without permission for the ad.

Truck crash in Lyttelton leaves driver dead

A small truck has crashed into two parked cars in Lyttelton, killing the driver.

Police said the crash took place about 10.25am on College Road.

The driver died at the scene and Police said his identity or any further details of the crash are not available as yet.
