A Dunedin High Court jury has returned a guilty verdict in the trial of Alexander Merritt who was accused of the murder of his supervisor Karin Ann Ross in December last year.
Merritt, a 21-year-old cleaner, denied the charge.
The jury found him guilty after deliberating for five hours today.
Ms Ross, 51, was found dead after being attacked in the carpark of the Spotless cleaning company in South Dunedin.
The crown alleged Merritt killed her because he was upset over employment issues.
A sentencing date for Merritt is yet to be set.
