February 6, 2019

Their show KOOZA, is opening at Alexandra Park on February 15.

Seventy people were all hands on deck today for the installation of Cirque du Soleil's signature blue and yellow Big Top in Auckland.

It comes ahead of the entertainment group's show KOOZA, opening at Alexandra Park on February 15.

The performance features an international cast of 50 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors.

The gear needed to set up the village for KOOZA fills more than 95 trailers, with the performance tent alone requiring more than 100 poles.

When raised, the Big Top stands about 20m high, 51m in diameter and can accommodate around 2,600 people.

Cirque du Soleil's last show in the country was Totem, in 2014.

KOOZA will run until March 17.
