Christchurch woman found dead described as 'funny, bubbly'

The woman who was found dead in a Christchurch residence on April 7 has been named as 27-year-old Nicole Tuxford.

A 54-year-old man has been charged with alleged murder and aggravated burglary in relation to Nicole’s death, after her body was found in a Merivale property.

In a statement from the Tuxford family released by police it was revelaed that "Nicky" was an accounts manager for an international logistics company based in Christchurch.

A huge police presence are today camped at Exeter St, Merivale, after a 27-year-old woman was found dead at a residence yesterday.

Ms Tuxford was born and bred in Dunedin, before she moved to Christchurch when she finished school

"Nicky was a funny, bubbly character who lit up a room with her personality and made other people laugh. She loved people and had ambitions to work as a counsellor so she could help others," the Tuxford family said in the statement.

"The family ask for privacy at this time and will not be providing any further comment."

The matter of Ms Tuxford's death is currently before the court.
