Christchurch school helping kids find their inner acrobat

Circus class is a thing at St Margaret’s College.

Growing up, you might have dreamed of running away to join the circus, but not many of us go through with it.

Well now Christchurch's St Margaret’s College is helping kids find their inner acrobat and they want it as part of the curriculum.

Circo Arts teacher Danny Symes has a lot of big top experience.

“I've been doing it for 20 years but also I did my master’s degree in circus,” he told Seven Sharp.

After a trial, the girls under Symes’ tutelage are keen for it to be added to the school curriculum full-time.

Seven Sharp reporter Rachel Parkin went to try out for the circus herself in the video above.
