Christchurch Mayor calls on nation to 'unite' after deadly terror attacks at two mosques

March 15, 2019

Lianne Dalziel spoke with TVNZ’s John Campbell.

An emotional Christchurch Mayor has urged people around the country to come together and care for each other as her city reels from two terror attacks on her city that's left 40 people dead.

"To choose Christchurch was to prove that nowhere was safe," Lianne Dalziel told TVNZ’s John Campbell today.

Ms Dalziel described the terrorist shooting as a "deliberate attack".

"We’ve got to make this unite us, not divide us," she said and added, "this was driven by hate."

"I cannot find the words that are sufficient to describe today."
