A 77-year-old man has been injured following a hit and run in Christchurch this morning.
The man was cycling east on Bealey Avenue just after 8am when he was struck by a car pulling out of Geraldine Street.
The driver failed to stop and left the cyclist lying on the road.
The elderly man is being treated for a neck injury in Christchurch Hospital, as well as possible broken ribs and cuts.
Police are appealing for the public's help in finding the driver of the car, which the victim believes was of an older style and grey in colour.
He doesn't know how many people were inside the car.
The 77-year-old was wearing a brightly-coloured reflective vest, as well as a helmet, when he was hit.
