October 17, 2017

A young boy is among the injured after a taxi van rolled and ended in a paddock south of Auckland this morning.

Police say four people are in a serious condition and that one person has moderate injuries after the crash in Waiuku Road, Mauku, about 50km south of central Auckland.

Constable Jordan Suppers said those injured were a six-year-old boy, two 18-year-old females, a 21-year-old male and a 69-year-old male.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter and St John Ambulance were called to transport the injured people to hospital.

The taxi van had several passengers on board, police say, and that members of the public who were first on the scene pulled people clear.

The Serious Crash Unit and Commercial Vehicle Safety Team are attending the scene.
