New retail precincts, underground rail tunnels and a monster office tower are under construction.

Auckland CBD's highly ambitious and challenging Commercial Bay development is now well advanced.

The $1 billion undertaking is 10 projects in one.

It includes doing up two existing buildings, building five new retail precincts, some underground rail tunnels and one monster office tower.

Seven Sharp's Michael Holland went to check on the progress in the video above.
