Gail McKenzie has been sending an A4 package of magazines to her Aunty Shirley for the last five years - and up until this year, the postage time from Tauranga to Gisborne had been around five days.
But Gail came to Fair Go because for the last six to eight months the postage time had become increasingly longer - 10 days, then two weeks, then over two weeks.
At the same time, the postage cost had increased from $3 to $3.60 - more money, less service, said Gail.
NZ Post agreed that this was not good enough, there had been a service failure, as three days was their normal delivery target.
They have made some changes in the mail connections between Tauranga and Gisborne - and Gail reports that the latest A4 package to Aunty Shirley took just three days.
Gail’s very pleased, because she says she wants to keep using NZ Post’s service.
