Sayyad was a year 10 student, who attended the Al Noor Mosque with family every Friday.

His sister, Tauranga woman Brydie Henry, said Sayyad was at the mosque with his mother, who survived the tragedy.

"Sayyad was just this cool kid. Just a typical Kiwi boy.

"He was a real football boy, we all signed a football today, knowing that's him," she said.

Also being laid to rest today are Linda Susan Armstrong, aged 64, Hussein Mohamed Khalil Moustafa, 70, and Haji-Daoud Nabi.
