Car recovered in search for man missing on Hawke's Bay river fishing trip

Police are concerned for the safety of a man who embarked on a fishing trip to Hawke's Bay and has been missing since Monday.

Peter Kozio, 55, was last seen on Waipawa bridge on State Highway 2 on December 10.

He left Palmerston North early on Monday and planned to fish the Waipawa and Tukituki Rivers before returning home.

Hawke's Bay Police have recovered the blue Ford Falcon he was driving which was found near the Waipawa bridge on SH2.

Peter is a bald Caucasian man who wears glasses. He may have a blue backpack and also brown PVC waders on.

His family and police are concerned for Mr Kozio’s safety and are appealing to anyone with information to contact Hawke's Bay police on (06) 831 0815 or their nearest Police station as soon as possible.
