Breakfast crew debates woman's pool expulsion over bikini - ‘What’s wrong with a couple of butt-cheeks?'

An Auckland woman is furious after being asked to leave the facility due to her choice of swimwear.

The hosts of TVNZ1's Breakfast debated this morning after an Auckland woman was asked to leave a city swimming complex over her bikini.

Yvette Harvie-Salter was visiting the Albany Stadium Pool, on Auckland's North Shore, on Saturday when she was approached by a female manager and asked to wear "something more conservative", she said.

While Breakfast host Hayley Holt called the attire "pretty normal", newsreader Melissa Stokes was more perplexed.

"What was it doing in the back, do you think? Was it a thong or something?" she asked.

"I think it looked a bit thong-y," Holt added. "It's quite small on the sides."

"A g-string," host Daniel Faitaua interjected.

"It looks fine," Holt said. "What's wrong with a couple of butt-cheeks?"

"Well, I don't mind butt-cheeks," Faitaua responded, before the conversation was promptly wrapped up.
