Police believe they have found the body of a Tauranga fisherman who went missing yesterday.
The 60-year old left around 7am yesterday morning in a three-metre-long aluminium boat and was expected back around midday but failed to return.
Police say the man's brother had spoken to multiple eye witnesses who reported seeing a boat anchored to a buoy out at sea that fits the description of the one used by the missing man.
The Waihi Coastguard located the body around 12.30pm this afternoon.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
