Body found on Takaka Hill near Nelson confirmed as missing man Jason Campbell

Police say they have found the body of Jason Campbell on Takaka Hill near Nelson.

The 35-year-old was last seen on August 6.

Extensive search efforts were mounted for Mr Campbell, who was considered to have good bushcraft skills after time working for the Department of Conservation.

Police said they were called about 10am yesterday and told by the called there was a body on their property. 

The death is not being treated as being suspicious, police said, and it will be referred to the Coroner.

Police extended their thanks to those involved in the search effort, and their sympathies to Mr Campbell's family and friends.
