Body found in search for man missing at Hunua Falls

Police searching for a missing man at Hunua Falls southeast of Auckland have recovered a body this afternoon.

A man was swept into the water near the waterfall at around 2.40pm yesterday.

Police say the body is a male in his twenties who was reported missing in the water yesterday afternoon.

The body was recovered by the Police Dive Squad and next of kin is in the process of being notified.

The death has been referred to the Coroner.

It's the second body of a missing swimmer found in the region today.

This morning police searching for a missing man at a swimming hole in Ramarama south of Auckland located a body of a man in his fifties.

The man went missing at Maketu waterfall yesterday.

Police say next of kin are being advised and the death has been referred to the Coroner.
