A body has been found by a fisherman in the Waikato River.
Police say a member of the public who was fishing discovered the body of a male on the riverbed about 9:15am today, just north of the Huntly Cemetery.
The body has since been recovered by police and formal identification is ongoing.
Police are making initial inquiries and have notified the Coroner but say there is nothing to suggest anything suspicious.
