Body found after swimmer reported missing in Whanganui

A body has been found in Whanganui today, after a swimmer was reported missing in the area yesterday.

The person was reported missing yesterday evening while out swimming near Somme Parade.

Police said today a body had been found in the same area.

While formal identification has yet to take place, it's believed to be the body of the swimmer.

The death will be referred to the coroner.
