Blaze on Te Mata Peak in Havelock North extinguished

A fire on Te Mata Peak in Havelock North has been extinguished. 

The fire, located at the peak's car park, was put out just before midnight, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson told 1 NEWS.

Six fire trucks and one water tanker were in attendance, with two helicopters on standby.

There was no initial indication as to what caused the blaze.
