Australian fire and emergency crews have come to New Zealand to get valuable life-saving training, not available at home.
They're using our state of the art facilities to re-create conditions in swollen Queensland rivers, but without the risk.
"Queensland's a pretty bad place for crocs. Half way up the river there are crocs. We can train below that, but we can't put people in the water," Queensland Fire and Emergency's Greg Duncan says.
They've come here because they lack the facilities in Australia.
"We've always simulated car rescues in our training, but it's always from a rock and it's really hard to simulate, you can't put people inside a rock," Mr Duncan says.
The training in New Zealand will help to save lives back home.
