Auckland fuel prices hike up as new regional tax hits

The first day of the region's 11.5 cent fuel tax saw gas stations displaying noticeable price differences.

Fuel prices around Auckland have been hiked up today as the region's 11.5 cent fuel tax came into force.

Gas stations around the city displayed noticeable differences in their pricing, ranging from $2.21 to $2.33. 

Money from the levy will go towards funding a range of transport infrastructure in the Super City.
