Civil Aviation investigators will head to Raglan this morning after the light plane crash that claimed two lives.
The plane went down yesterday afternoon near the shoreline of Raglan Harbour, not far from the airport.
Just a week out from Christmas, the fatal crash has rocked the tight-knit community.
"This is gut-wrenching," said resident Rangi Stevenson. "Aroha for the family. They've lost their family members. All our locals will be feeling it."
Local kaumātua will carry out a blessing at the site sometime today.
