The Prime Minister says results from the latest 1 NEWS Colmar Brunton poll are "heartening"
The poll shows Labour climbing ahead of the Opposition at 45 per cent. National dropped to 42 per cent, down four per cent on the last poll.
As preferred Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern again was ahead up five per cent to 44 per cent, while National Party leader Simon Bridges dipped to his lowest number to date on six per cent.
Judith Collins was also on six per cent, while Winston Peters came in at three per cent.
Speaking on TVNZ1's Breakfast this morning, Ms Ardern said she was pleased to see some consistency in the polls.
"Of course that's heartening," she said. "I'd like to think that's a reflection of the fact that yes, as a Government, we are taking on some pretty big challenges head on and have achieved some things that I'm really proud of."
National and its leader have received their lowest numbers since the election, according to the latest 1 NEWS Colmar Brunton poll.
However, she said the party would not be complacent, saying polls were "pretty fickle beasts".
"It's about making sure that we're consistent. That we just keep working hard."
The Green Party was up one per cent to six per cent in the recent poll, and NZ First was down one point to three per cent.
The Māori Party, Act and The Opportunities Party all sat at one per cent.
