Police haven't revealed how much money two armed offenders ran off with when they robbed a security van outside an Auckland bank during rush hour last night.
The pair fled on foot at about 4.45pm after the hold-up near the ASB on Dominion Road, Mount Roskill.
Police say it's understood both offenders were carrying firearms at the time of the incident, though no shots were fired and no one was injured.
Police said they do not believe this was a random robbery and say they are following active and positive lines of inquiry.
Dominion Road cordoned off near the incident.

Manager of Yong Fa restaurant Cathy Wang was at the scene yesterday when the incident unfolded and said at least five police cars were at the robbery.
She said she saw two young men run from the bank about seven to 10 minutes before police arrived.
"I feel so shocked. It happened so fast," she said.
She said the men parked in a Mitsubishi car before they went inside the bank. Then when they ran out of the bank they left the vehicle there.
Stewart Hintz was in his car parked outside or near the bank and said "everyone was standing around shocked" when it happened.
He said he got out of his car and "all hell broke loose with armed police waving guns around".
