Ambulances diverted from Auckland hospital overnight after emergency department power outage

An issue occurred with scheduled maintenance work.

Part’s of Auckland’s North Shore Hospital were without power overnight.

It happened after an issue occurred during scheduled maintenance work.

The emergency department was affected, along with other nearby areas in the building.

Ambulances were diverted to other hospitals across the city from 11pm, lasting four hours.

Power had now been restored and patients weren’t affected.
