An ambulance driver allegedly involved in a crash were an ambulance hit three people outside Auckland Hospital earlier this month has been charged with careless driving, police have confirmed.
Three people waiting at a bus stop outside the hospital were injured when the ambulance carrying a patient mounted the kerb and smashed into the stop on September 7.
The three people received moderate injuries and were treated inside the hospital.
The three ambulance staff were uninjured as was the patient in the back of the vehicle.
The man charged will appear in Auckland District Court on October 6.
