Amateur Kiwi stuntman Johnny Danger killed in Auckland motorcycle crash

Amateur Kiwi stuntman Johnny 'Danger' Bennett has reportedly been killed in a motorcycle accident in Auckland's Dairy Flat this afternoon.

Mr Bennett was most famous for his taxi-riding stunt where he was filmed riding on the roof of a taxi over the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

He has a large social media following and often created videos of his antics to post online.

NewsHub have reported that a close friend of Danger, Julian Rivers-Smith, confirmed the death this afternoon.

Tributes have been pouring in on his Facebook page.

"RIP another legend taken to early thanks for the laughs and I will forever be danger swigging," one Facebook user wrote.

"RIP I'm so heartbroken. Will neck snap forever," another wrote.

"You lived more in your short life than most live in there entire life. Cheers for the good times, laughs and smiles dude," said another.

Danger also started his own range of beers, Danger's Lager.

His trademark danger swig was also widely emulated by celebrities including Sir John Key.
