Air New Zealand ad has world's naughtiest children to pledge 'nicest Christmas ever'

Air New Zealand has released a new Christmas ad featuring the world's naughtiest children as they attempt to get back on Santa's nice list - and avoid getting nothing in their stockings come December.

Named The Nicest Christmas Ever, the video sees Air New Zealand fly the children out to an International Naughty Kids Summit to tackle the threat of zero presents after Father Christmas accidentally leaks his naughty list.

More than 300 children of Air New Zealand employees auditioned for the clip, 17 of which were chosen for starring roles alongside the airline's ground and cabin crew.

Noel, the elf featured in last year's Christmas video, also makes an appearance.

In a statement, Air New Zealand general manager global brand and content Jodi Williams said of the Christmas video's Kiwi twist, "From childhood memories of writing to Santa, through to the drama of a festive tech fail, the heartwarming video plays on silly season moments in a very Kiwi way".

The video follows last year's viral Christmas video A Very Merry Mistake, in which Santa struggles to understand the Kiwi accent.
