Aerial shots show vast scale of Tasman fire, which continues to burn strongly

Aerial shots of the bush fire in Pigeon Valley shows the scale of the blaze, which is still burning fiercely despite the best efforts of firefighters on the ground and in the air.

I NEWS footage shot from a helicopter shows a number of choppers skirt the thick plume of smoke as they douse a section of the fire along a ridge.

The aerial shots also show just how close the flames were to a number of homes.

A large section of burnt land can be seen still smoking with a narrow strip of land containing several homes remaining untouched.
