Police are praising public informants after busting a "large scale cannabis growing operation" in Cambridge.
A 23-year-old man faces charges relating to the manufacturing of cannabis oil, cultivation of cannabis, possession of cannabis for supply and the possession of drug related equipment after warehouse accommodation on Wordsworth St was searched.
Area Commander Naila Hassan said the extensive investigation, involving detectives and photography and forensic analysts demonstrates how seriously police take information from the public.
”This shows the value of the public in seeing something and then doing something; and that is notifying police," Inspector Hassan said.
“This led to the discovery of a large commercial indoor cannabis growing operation in which over 500 plants were recovered."
Ms Hassan said Waikato takes a "whole of district approach" to large scale criminal activity
