An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to the death of his colleague at an Auckland factory

An 18-year-old man was later arrested and charged with assault with a weapon in relation to the death of a 19-year-old Manurewa man at the factory.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon in relation to the death of a 19-year-old Manurewa man at an Auckland factory overnight. 

Police remain at the East Tamaki factory today, as they continue their investigations.

The 18-year-old is due to appear in Manukau District Court today.

Police said the two men were colleagues at a labour hire company.

"We will be conducting a scene examination at the factory today alongside forensic experts from ESR," Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Tiernan said.

Police are speaking to others who were in the factory at the time of the man’s death, but are not seeking anyone else in relation to the death.
