Ms Ardern is due to give birth to her first child in June, and says she is still very much able to carry out her duties.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says her pregnancy - and swollen feet - has not affected her job at Chogm.

"I've always maintained that I'm pregnant not incapacitated," Ms Ardern said.

"The one disclaimer I would give is that it does remove your ability to put your shoes on ... travel is not helpful for swelling."

The expectant mother said she's satisfied she has got as much value on her European tour visit that she's been able to.

"Even if I let New Zealand down on the shoe front," she joked.
