Watch: 'I think he's got problems today' - The Killers step in to cover 'Wonderwall' after frustrated Liam Gallagher storms off festival stage in Chile

The Killers have stepped in to perform a cover version of Oasis' Wonderwall after former frontman Liam Gallagher stormed off the stage at the Lollapalooza festival in Chile at the weekend.

Gallagher complained that his voice was "absolutely smashed", and said "I'd love to stand here all night and scream it out for you but it sounds f**king horrific".

"So I'm very sorry, I can't sing the tunes," he told the crowd. "You ain't going to have fun - waste of time."

Later in the night, The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers dedicated a cover of the Wonderwall - by Gallagher's former band Oasis - to the British rocker.

"We heard you missed out on a couple of songs today that you wanted to hear," Flowers said.

"Before I sing this song I would just like to say that Liam, Liam Gallagher is my king ... he's one of my kings ... this is in no meant to disparage in any way anything that he did - I think he's got problems today.

"But any night that Wonderwall is being sung by a lot of people is just a good thing, so let's do it."

The vocalist went on to perform a spirited rendition backed only by touring guitarist Ted Sablay, with the crowd singing along and cheering.
