Watch: Rocker Josh Homme kicks female photographer in the head during show

December 11, 2017

Josh Homme, frontman for American rockers Queens of the Stone Age, is facing backlash from the public and fans alike after being filmed kicking a camerawoman in the face during a concert in Los Angeles last night.

Homme's band was playing at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show in Inglewood, California when the singer was captured on camera kicking out a woman in the crowd who was filming them.

Chelsea Lauren, a photographer for Shutterstock, posted footage of her being kicked by Homme on her Instagram account with the caption: "Thanks to @joshhomme @queensofthestoneage I now get to spend my night in the ER. Seriously, WHO DOES THAT?!?"

The video posted by Ms Lauren shows Homme in full swing during a song, strutting around the stage before seeming to spot her holding the camera, attempting to kick it out of her hand.

Homme has since taken to Twitter to apologise releasing a statement saying he was "lost in performance" and didn't realise he had kicked the camerawoman during the show.

The post has received mainly negative comments, with one user posting: "Without doubt you should (and probably will) be charged with a crime. This statement is a transparent manufactured lie."

"That's your statement? If you want to apologise you need to reach out directly to your victim. We saw the video. You weren't lost in the performance. You were lost in something else," user Ember Rain posted on Homme's tweet.
