November 16, 2017

Lorde found out she has a high-profile fan, after being given an award by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern at the Vodafone Music Awards in Auckland last night.

Clutching her award bounty from the VMA’s, Lorde spoke on how emotional her homecoming tour has been.

The Kiwi pop sensation was handed the Peoples Choice Award by Ms Ardern and the two were clearly stoked to see each other.

"Oh man Jacinda Ardern is up here guys, come over here, I can't believe you're at the New Zealand music awards this is a big deal for music," Lorde said.

"Presenting to you is a big deal, mutual fan-girl," the Prime Minister replied.

Both Lorde and Jacinda Ardern have now won big this year. Lorde taking out six Tuis at the Vodafone Music Awards and Ms Ardern taking out her own substantial prize of New Zealand PM.
