Irish singer Brian McFadden has made a shout out to Stan Walker on live TV, describing the Kiwi as a “great, great New Zealand singer”.
McFadden interrupted an interview on TVNZ1’s Breakfast programme to acknowledge Walker.
"Can I say hello to someone really quickly? Can I say hi to Stan Walker?" McFadden said as he waved cheerily at the camera.
“A great, great New Zealand singer, I worked with Stan when I was in Australia, what a fantastic singer."
"I just want to say hello to Stan, hi Stan, I know he watches the show."
McFadden, who is touring NZ with former Boyzone member Keith Duffy, was a judge on Australian Idol in 2009, which Walker won.
Walker underwent stomach removal surgery in September last year and recently revealed he was struggling with his drastic new diet.
The Kiwi musician had the life-changing procedure after being diagnosed with the rare cancer-causing gene CDH1, that runs in his family and has claimed the lives of 25 of his relatives.
McFadden and Duffy are performing in New Zealand as Boyzlife.
