Kiwi singing legend Dave Dobbyn has recorded a remake of his classic tune Welcome Home in Te Reo for Maori Language Week next week.
The singer-songwriter has posted a taste of what he calls "my Te Reo journey" on Facebook.
He's thanked Te Haumihiata Mason and Maimoa Music and invited people to listen to Nau Mai Rā on Spotify.
Welcome Home was released in 2006 from Dave Dobbyn's album Available Light. The song was produced by Neil Finn and reached number 10 on the New Zealand charts.
Dobbyn was inspired to write the song after seeing Christchurch anti-racism protests and the sense of community that came through.
He has drawn praise from his Facebook followers for his Te Reo version of the song.
"Makes me cry in both languages," Mary Saxon Faulkner wrote.
"This song was released just before my sister died and we played it at her funeral. I'll love it forever."
Tarn Tomson posted: "Dave is there anything you can't sing and make us proud to be Kiwis?"
