Tributes pour in for comic-book writer Stan Lee - 'We've lost a creative genius'

Tributes have begun pouring in for legendary Marvel comic book writer and film producer Stan Lee, who died overnight aged 95.

Actor Seth Rogen took to Twitter this morning to mourn the loss of Lee, saying, "Thank you Stan Lee for making people who feel different realise they are special".

Lee created Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man and The Avengers with Marvel.

Chris Evans, who plays Marvel superhero Captain America, tweeted, "There will never be another Stan Lee. For decades he provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy. He exuded love and kindness and will leave an indelible mark on so, so, so many lives. Excelsior!!"

Actress Kat Dennings, who played a role in Marvel's Thor, said, "Stan Lee. A gentleman and a genius. It was an honor to be a small part of his universe. Rest In Peace".

Ryan Reynolds, who plays Marvel superhero Deadpool, posted a tribute to the comic-book legend on Instagram, saying, "Thanks for everything, Stan".

Meanwhile, actor Robert Downey Jnr also paid tribute to the iconic writer, posting to Instagram, ""I owe it all to you,,, Rest In Peace Stan... #MCU #Excelsior #legend #rip #stanlee #TeamStark".

Hugh Jackman, who played Marvel's Wolverine, said on Instagram, "We've lost a creative genius. Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I’m proud to have been a small part of his legacy and .... to have helped bring one of his characters to life. #StanLee #wolverine".

His daughter, JC, told TMZ: "My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man."

He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from his Hollywood Home, where he died overnight.
