Maori soul singer and song writer Teeks was amoung one of the Maori artists to be recognised at this years Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
The 23-year-old from Hokianga, Northland walked away with the award for Best Maori Artist on Thursday night.
Teeks is up for three awards at the NZ Music Awards, and his voice will give you goosebumbs.
"Performing live brings me the biggest joy," he's said in the past, even though he's usually quite a reserved and shy person.
Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi (Teeks) speaks fluent Te Reo Maori and teaches it at Auckland's Unitec three nights a week.
