Kiwi director Taika Waititi has opened up about his experience working on his first Hollywood blockbuster and what it was like to order around Oscar-winning legend Sir Anthony Hopkins on set.
Waititi was talking to 1 NEWS reporter Kimberlee Downs at the Hyatt Park Hotel in Sydney, when she asked him how he found directing big stars such as Mark Ruffalo in the Thor: Ragnarok shoot.
"There was one moment when Anthony Hopkins was acting and I came out and said 'that was a little too big a little too over the top' and he agreed it was over the top and said he would do it again.
"Then Chris (Hemsworth) was like, remember that time you told Anthony Hopkins he was over the top?" Waititi said laughing.
Despite the big names, the Kiwi director of Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, said Thor: Ragnarok was one of the most ego-less shoots he has ever been a part of.
Thor: Ragnarok opens in Kiwi cinemas on Thursday October 26.
