Alternative rock band Tool has completed recording vocals for their fifth studio album, frontman Maynard James Keenan has announced.

The news was confirmed on Twitter today, with Keenan writing: "Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then US-UK-Euro run w #APC".

"If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for #puscifer2020 & troll the band FBs with wine posts. #funnysh*t #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking."

It comes after Keenan promised fans they would get to hear new Tool songs in 2019 as he accepted the Icon Award during last year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards.
