Heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne has cancelled his Australian, New Zealand and Japanese tour dates next month, promoters announced this evening.

It comes after the British rocker, 70, recently postponed his entire UK and Europe leg of the No More Tours 2 tour following a recent illness.

"Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in hospital. Thankfully he is now through the worst part," wife Sharon Osbourne said in a statement.

"His doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for a full six weeks with no travel."

Judas Priest will still perform at Auckland's Spark Arena on Saturday, March 16, however.

Ticket holders for the Christchurch show at Horncastle Arena on Wednesday, March 13 , are entitled to a full refund, Live Nation said in a statement.
