The English star says the social media platform is full of people being mean.

A huge demand to see Ed Sheeran’s shows in Auckland and Dunedin over the next week has seen Air New Zealand put on as many as 60 additional flights.

The Grammy Award winning Brit is performing on three consecutive nights in Auckland starting tomorrow before travelling to Dunedin next week where he his playing on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The huge demand for tickets and flights for those out-of-town fans has Air New Zealand advising travelers to take out travel insurance.

“Many of our customers will be excited to get to some of the big events on this weekend, including the Ed Sheeran concerts, and we know a lot of travellers have made a significant investment in tickets, flights and accommodation,” Air New Zealand Customer Care Manager Debbie McKeown said.

“Our operations teams are ready to get our customers to their destination over the coming weekends, which include the Easter break, but it’s important to be prepared for any unexpected situations which may arise outside of our control.”
